Florida Food Forum - June's Topic:
Technology in the Food Production System
Join us online from 12-1pm (ET) on Friday, June 26th, for the Florida Food Forum on "Technology in the Food Production System." Ricky Stephens, Director of Digital Strategy at Agritecture Consulting, will be presenting on this important topic. Following the presentation will be a discussion and Q&A session.
Description: For much of the last decade, a range of commentators have weighed in on the idea that farming was the "least digitized" of all major global industries, and, given that it employs roughly 1 in 3 workers around the world, stood the most to gain from the incorporation of new technology.
A lot has changed in the past 5-10 years, as private investment into agtech and foodtech startups has exploded, reaching $20 billion last year. But even more will change in the next 5-10 years, as some of these innovations reach a critical mass and start to shape our lives and the food we eat in a variety of ways. We'll explore how in this talk.
